Travel In Espirito Santo



Esperito Santo is another coastal Brazilian state. It is located on the northern side of Rio de Janeiro. This state's capital is the city of Vitoria and the largest city being Vila Velha. An interesting fact about this country is that all who are born in this state are known as capixabas which literally means Holy Spirit after, of course, the Holy Ghost of Christianity. Espirito Santo is also known for it beautiful coastline and plentiful beaches, which are the biggest tourist attraction for this country. Nearly half of the country is coastline. The capital, Vitoria is on an island, and is well known for its beautiful sands. In the extreme north of the state is the Ituanas, which are part of the municipality of Conceicao da Barra, which are most famous for the sand dunes which encompass this part of the state.

In the capital city Vitoria there is an annual celebration known as the Fiestas de la Blanca. This festival is celebrated every year from the fourth to the ninth of August. It is held in honor of the patron saint of city. This is just another one of the wonderful festivals that this part of the world is known for and is an excellent addition to any vacationing or traveling plans.

Also in Vitoria, there are an array of museums and musical venues. There is the Basque Center Museum of Contemporary Art, the Arms Museum, the Archeology Museum, the Museum of Sacred Art, the Fine Arts Museum, Natural History Museum, Lanterns Museum, Open air Museums, and the Fournier Playing Card Museum. The Museum of Contemporary Art is praised as housing one of the best selections of Basque and Spanish contemporary art in the world. Of course, the Open air Museums are some of the most interesting that you can find in the world; the city has sculptures presented on nearly every street, some on benches, and in places to be easily seen by the tourist that has made their way to this lovely city.

Not only are there an array of museums, but the old part of the city is well preserved and is also littered with various remarkable monuments. There is the Casa del Cordon which is the gothic cathedral of Maria. Also located in the old part of city Vitoria is the Museum of Archeology and the Torre de Dona Otxanda which is a tower holding the museum of Natural Sciences.

In the nineteenth century there was an extension built onto the old city which includes attractions like Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, where the Fiestas de la Blanca start. The church of San Miguel is also here, the Los Arquillos which is something like and arcade. Every Sunday here in the extension to the old city there is a street market held which is one that any tourist might love to see and experience. And just a bit further south of this point is the Paseo de Fray Francisco which is a wide street lined with mansions which have recently been renovated for public use. Vitoria is just another wonderful city in Brazil worthy of making travel plans to.

Museums in France



France offers many types of museums about any subject imaginable. The French love to visit them during the weekends. This means that there are crowds and long lines to deal with. When making your travel plans, it is best to go to the museums during the weekdays. Paris is home to the most visited and famous museum in the entire world, the Louvre. The main entrance of the museum is occupied by the Louvre Pyramid. This museum showcases different aspects of the Finistere region of France, which is located at the very tip of French Brittany. You may be wondering why the museum has to do with strawberries. When strawberries were first brought to France from South America, they were cultivated in this area.

In the city of Mulhouse you will find many museums to choose from. One that stands out amongst the others is the National Automobile Museum Schlumpf collection. The museum has over 600 cars in its collection made by over 90 different manufactures. This would be a great stop by any car lover!

Ski Resorts in Germany


Planning a visit to Germany does not have to be limited to the warmer months. Germany offers many ski resorts to choose from. There is something for everyone's taste. Glacier skiing, world cup races, along with mountain hideaways and cosmopolitan resorts are just a few of the options that await you. Since Germany is located in central Europe, most of the resorts have easy access to passenger and scheduled flights. There is nothing stopping you from taking a short trip to the Alps.

Boasting being Germany's number one ski resort is the ski town of Garmisch Partenkirchen. The town is proud of hosting the Olympics in the 1930s. The two areas of Garmisch and Partenkirchen were combined together during the Olympics and since have had many tourists. Over 5 million tourists sleep overnight a year at all of the hotels in the area. The main ski area is over the town on the Hausberg, Kreuzeck and Osterfelder runs. The main town runs are easy to access by foot, bus, and train, while the glacier runs will need to be accessed by train, bus, or a cable car. There are many hotels to choose from, so before booking do some research on which would fit your needs to best.

If you are looking for a more secluded resort, try the Berchtesgaden area. Here you will find a ski resort on the outskirts of the Berchtesgaden National Forest. You will be able to ski and view beautiful scenery at the same time. There are some symbols of Germany's darkened past that are visible from the ski resort. One of these is the "Eagle's Nest". This was Hitler's mountain refuge in World War II. Tourists come throughout the year to see it. The Jenner ski area is the most known and largest in the Berchtesgaden area and can be easily accessed by bus. You will be able to find hotels within the city and in some parts of the countryside.

In the small village of Oberammergau skiers will be able to enjoy a decent amount of skiing even if it cannot compare to the larger resorts in the south. Skiers can take in the beauty on one of the runs on the Laber Mountain which is behind the town. The main ski area is located across the road at the Kolben area and has a selection that is easier for beginners and intermediates. There are many places to choose from to stay overnight because of all the attractions in the area. This is a great spot if you want to get the true German feel with the locals.

It depends on how well you ski, and the area you want to visit. These areas are opened year round for people to visit. In the summer they can see the towns and the nature around.
