Romantic Getaway in the Midwest Region: Experience Thrill and Adventure

For a unique and adventurous vacation, going to the Midwest for a romantic getaway is an excellent choice. The region offers a lot of varied experiences such as quaint little towns, cosmopolitan cities, lush green forests, theme parks, mountains, rivers as well as historic sites. The Midwest is truly a fusion of the old world charm and modern technological advancement. The region is synonymous with cowboys, their boots and horses but these are not the only attraction of Midwest.

Midwest Romantic Getaway Destinations

The state of Illinois is one of the most popular destinations in the region and is an excellent choice for a romantic getaway in Midwest. Chicago, also known as the Windy City, is situated adjacent to Lake Michigan and has several world class attractions such as the Museum of Science and Industry, Adler Planetarium, Navy Pier, Field Museum and Art Institute.

The town of Galena is renowned for its cozy atmosphere and excellent craft and antique shops. Starved Rock near Utica is one of the most beautiful parks in Illinois and if you visit it during your Midwest romantic getaway then you will find several stunning waterfalls, canyons and bluffs. There are also several good hiking trails and trekking regions in the state such as in the Shawnee National Forest.

Another destination that you can include in your itinerary on your Midwest romantic getaway is the state of Indiana. While visiting New Harmony and Madison towns is like taking a step back in history, the small town of Santa Claus is known for Splashing Safari Water Park and Holiday World Theme Park. The city of Columbus has been ranked by the American Institute of Architects as the sixth best architectural city and a visit to the lovely attractions of Columbus city is a must during your romantic Midwest getaway.

The mention of Kansas immediately brings to our minds cowboys and horses. Yes Kansas is all that but this state is much more than that as would be evident to you when you visit its cities on your romantic getaway in the Midwest region. The Boot Hill Museum, Fort Hays State Historic Site, Old Cowtown Museum in Wichita, the Sedgwick County Zoo, Kansas Museum of History, All Veterans Memorial Park and Cimarron National Grasslands are only some of the attractions that make Kansas a popular tourist destination not only in the Midwest but also in the whole of United States.
